Mechanical Engineering is a field of study that deals with tiny parts & devices to large machinery system referring to inter-disciplinary knowledge of all types of machinery along with their design, manufacture, development, production, quality, maintenance, installation & operation.
Mechanical Engineering deals with anything that is in motion covering Gas turbines, Components of Thermal Power, Engines, Machine Tools, Jet Engines, and Refrigerator etc. To put it in nut shell, Mechanical Engineering is considered as the Mother of all Trades.
The mechanical engineering field requires an understanding of the core areas including mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity. In addition to these core principles, mechanical engineers use tools such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), and product life cycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices, weapons, and others.
